Click On A Mouse And Buy A Car With Fairfax

JOHN Fairfax, publisher of The Sun- Herald, has launched its first classifieds super site for car buyers.
Using the new drive.com.au site, you can name the model, price range and location of a car you're interested in buying and, with a click of the mouse, up pop all the relevant advertisements published in Fairfax publications.
At each hit, the site also gives you extra details about the model, taken from Glass's Guide, which is consulted routinely by car dealers.
"At drive.com.au car buyers can find a one-stop Internet site for objective and well researched news, reviews and features on cars, their specifications and performance, along with finance and leasing rates," said Nigel Dews, general manager, business development and online services.
"With this initiative, we are taking our relationship with car dealers and manufacturers to the next stage by linking them directly with qualified buyers, something that has not been done before."
The site also carries motoring news and reviews from Fairfax publications The Sun-Herald, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.
Eloan
IF you have an allergy to bank managers, don't like waiting in a queue for ages, hate fees and want a home loan, eloan is the site for you.
It is offering a 5.9 per cent variable interest rate - one of the lowest available - and guarantees there are no other fees. Not even application, valuation or legal fees. Zilch.
And you need never see their ugly faces. The whole loan is done over the Internet, by fax and phone. It has to be the cyberspace equivalent of the ultimate automatic teller machine.
There's also a calculator so you can do your own sums on how much you can borrow and what it will cost.
